For safety, please read this "user manual" carefully before use, follow it for proper use, and save it for future reference.
The following instructions must be followed at all times to avoid personal injury and physical damage to the equipment and the environment. The instructions are classified according to the degree of danger or damage that may occur if the product is used incorrectly.

- Do not disassemble or modify the product. It may cause the product to malfunction, you may fall unexpectedly and be seriously injured.
Ensure safety
- Please follow the following instructions to avoid burns or other injuries caused by fluid leakage, overheating, fire or explosion.
To ensure safe riding
- While riding, be careful not to pay excessive attention to the cycling computer display. Otherwise, you may have an accident.
- Before riding the bicycle, check that the wheels are securely mounted on the bicycle. If the wheels are not securely mounted, the bicycle may overturn and cause serious injury.
- When riding an electric-assist bicycle, make sure you are fully familiar with the bicycle's starting characteristics before riding on multi-lane roads and pedestrian walkways. If the bicycle starts suddenly, it may lead to an accident.
- Before riding the bicycle, make sure that the front and rear lights can be turned on.
Safe use of the product
- Remove the battery and charging cable before making wiring or installing parts on the bicycle. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
- Do not move the bicycle while charging the battery installed on the bicycle. The mains plug of the battery charger may be loose and may not be fully inserted into the electrical outlet, which poses a risk of fire.
- Avoid touching the drive unit that has been in continuous use for a long time. The surface of the drive unit gets hot and contact with it can cause burns.
- Clean the chain regularly and use a suitable chain cleaner. Maintenance frequency will vary depending on driving conditions.
- Never use alkaline or acidic cleaning agents to remove rust. The use of such cleaners can damage the chain and cause serious injury.
- Be sure to follow the instructions in the user manual when assembling this product. In addition, it is recommended that you only use genuine SHIMANO parts. If the screws and nuts are left loose or if the product is damaged, the bicycle may suddenly overturn and serious injury may result.
Battery Handling
- If liquid leaking from the battery gets into the eyes, immediately flush the affected area thoroughly with potable water (tap water) without rubbing the eyes and seek medical attention immediately. If you do not do this, the liquid from the battery may harm your eyes.
- Do not charge the battery in places with high humidity or outdoors. Otherwise, electric shock may occur.
- If the plug is wet, do not insert or remove it. Failure to do so may result in electric shock. If water leaks from the plug, dry it thoroughly before plugging it in.
- If the battery is not fully charged even after 2 hours after the specified charging time, please unplug the battery immediately and contact the place of purchase. Otherwise, it may overheat, crack or catch fire. Refer to the user manual for the battery charger for the appropriate battery charging time.
- Do not use the battery if there are obvious scratches or other external damage. Failure to do so may result in cracking, overheating, or operational problems.
- Operating temperature ranges for the battery are listed below. Do not use the battery at temperatures outside these ranges.
If the battery is used or stored at temperatures outside these ranges, fire, injury or problems during operation may occur.
1. During discharge: -10 °C - 50 °C
2. During charging: 0 °C - 40 °C

- For safe riding, follow the instructions given in the bicycle manual.
Safe use of the product
- Never try to modify the system yourself. It could cause system operation problems.
- Check the battery charger and adapter regularly; pay particular attention to damage to the cable, plug and jacket. If the charger or adapter is damaged, do not use until repaired.
- This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.
- Do not allow children to play near the product.
Handling the battery
- Do not leave the battery in a place exposed to direct sunlight, inside a vehicle on a hot day, or in other hot places. The result may be liquid leaking from the battery.
- If the leaking liquid gets on your skin or clothing, clean them immediately with clean water. Leaking fluid may damage your skin.
- Store the battery in a safe place out of the reach of children and animals.
