Checkpoint ALR with SRAM Apex – Ready for Anything
The Checkpoint ALR in this configuration is a robust yet lightweight gravel bike designed to handle endless gravel roads, forest trails and everyday commutes. Thanks to a lightweight 300 Series Alpha Aluminum frame with refined geometry and a 142 × 12 mm thru-axle, it offers optimal power transfer, stability and the ability to mount racks, mudguards and frame bags. All this makes it ideal for long bikepacking trips and everyday life.
The Checkpoint carbon fork with a fixed 12 × 100 mm mount and internal brake line routing effectively dampens vibrations while giving the whole thing a clean, elegant look. The internal cable system and 3S chain keeper contribute to reliable and quiet operation throughout the ride.
The powerful SRAM Apex 1x11 drivetrain with a long-arm rear derailleur and 11–42 cassette provides enough range for steep climbs and brisk flat riding. The Apex 1 single-ring 40T crankset (with lengths according to frame size) offers easy maintenance and easy access to powerful pedaling. Paired with a SRAM DUB Wide T47 bottom bracket, the entire system is strong and smooth.
The bike rides on reliable Bontrager Paradigm tubeless-ready (TLR) clincher wheels, shod with Bontrager GR1 Team Issue 700×40 mm gravel tires with Inner Strength reinforcement for better durability and traction on the terrain. Combined with high-quality TLR sealant and tape, this is a set ready to ride without compromise.
Comfort is provided by the Bontrager Verse Comp saddle available in multiple widths according to frame size, an alloy 27.2 mm seatpost with a decent 12 mm offset, and ergonomic Bontrager Elite Gravel handlebars with different widths for an ideal fit for the rider. The handlebars are complemented by a sticky Bontrager Supertack Perf grip that holds up even in the rain.
Reliable braking performance is provided by Tektro C550 mechanical disc brakes with a two-piston system and centerlock rotors with a diameter of 160 mm front and rear - the ideal combination for precise power distribution without the need for hydraulics.
