- Because each bicycle may handle slightly differently depending on the model, learn proper braking techniques (including brake lever pressure and bicycle handling characteristics) and the operation of your bicycle. Improper use of the bicycle's braking system may result in loss of control, which may result in serious injury from a fall or collision.

- Move the shift lever only one gear at a time (one or two gears for 11-speed hub). Reduce the pressure on the pedals while shifting. If you try to apply force to the shifter or perform multiple shifts while pedaling hard, your feet may slip from the pedals, the bicycle may overturn, and serious injury may result. Using the shifter for multiple shifts can also cause the outer bowden to slip out of the shifter. It does not affect the functions of the gear lever, because the outer bowden will return to its original position after shifting.
- Do not use the brakes continuously when driving down long slopes. With freewheel brakes or roller brakes, this will cause the internal parts of the brakes to become very hot and reduce the braking performance as well as the volume of brake fluid in the brakes, resulting in noise or problems such as abnormal sudden braking. With hydraulic disc brakes, this can cause a sudden increase in brake lever action, causing the brakes to malfunction and lead to serious injury.
- Perform a warm-up procedure and check the braking power of the brake.
- Do not touch the area around the brake for at least 30 minutes after you finish riding the bike. If the brake is used frequently, the area around the brake may become hot.
